From Lima to California, this is our heartfelt story…

Camucha’s Kitchen LLC was founded in California in September 2022 by Chef Carmen Anderson, a passionate chef dedicated to honoring her Peruvian roots through authentic catering services across the Bay Area. Her culinary journey began at just eight years old, working in her mother’s restaurant in Lima, Peru. For over a decade, she learned the intricacies of running a restaurant, supporting her family, and mastering the traditional recipes that had been passed down for generations.

The name “Camucha” carries deep meaning—it is a common Peruvian nickname for Carmen and a tribute to Chef Carmen’s mother, whose cherished recipes continue to inspire every dish. At Camucha’s Kitchen, each meal is crafted with authentic Peruvian spices, infusing flavors, colors, and a comforting aroma that stay true to the essence of Criollo Peruvian cuisine.

Chef Carmen’s mission is clear: to Preserve Peruvian Traditions and take you on a culinary journey that will leave an everlasting impression. More than just food, Camucha’s Kitchen is a commitment to passionately crafting exquisite Peruvian cuisine and sharing it with those who seek an authentic and unforgettable culinary experience.

Since migrating to the United States in 2004, Chef Carmen has passionately shared her family recipes with as many people as possible, starting with her family and friends, and eventually reaching a wider audience. In 2015, she opened El Farolito Peruvian Cuisine in her home in Hayward, California, serving traditional breakfast meals to neighbors and fellow Peruvian expatriates. Upon joining the La Cocina incubator program in 2022, Chef Carmen launched Camucha’s Kitchen to serve the broader San Francisco community, spreading her delicious family recipes beyond her home kitchen.
